It IS such a whirl-wind isn't it? I feel so connected to my tools, my kitchen and my dishes- but I am missing that family we had last quarter. There's just not enough time in the day to taste it all, and critique it all. It is the most satisfying and yet terrifying couple of months I've ever had. Great post Anne :)

Love the picture of you an your daughter. She has grown ssooo much and she is sooo cute. Hey, have not looked at your web site for so long as you were not entering but checked it today. Enjoy reading your adventures at school. I went 2 years through SSCC food program so have some idea of your days. I have a great recipe for stuffed boneless turkey. It is stuffed with extra breast meat, italian sausage and then when done a caper sauce goes over all. Garnished with fresh rosemary. I always had to look for a butcher that knew how to bone it. Love reading about your experiences.

Hi Laura! Thank you so much for the kind words. About the boring vegetarian food...I know what you mean! Lots of times last quarter I noticed that people were serving pasta for their veg option...and although I'm a huge pasta fan, I wondered about the vegetarians' protein situation. Cheese only goes so far. I'll be sure and post the recipe soon. I noticed that the quinoa and the tzatziki "keep" well for a good couple days. Also, the whole sandwich holds together nicely--the filling is not too wet, so the tortilla doesn't get soggy. Perfect for bringing to work/school.

Hi Anne!

I came here from "Tea and Cookies" and haven't been reading for long. But I've subscribed because I love your photos and food and stories of cooking school! I'm not a vegetarian (although sometimes I "lean that way") and I just wanted to say that your vegetarian quinoa wrap DOES sound great! I get tired of vegetarian food being boring (that is, when one encounters it in cafeterias/delis) - especially the sandwiches. They don't need to be two slabs of bread with cheese and sad wilted lettuce. This sounds great and I only wish I could try it out in your cafeteria!
