I have the book pictured above but my copy is not nearly as nice - it is very worn and came to me about 20 years ago from a woman in her 90s - someone had given it to her when she was a young bride (her mother or grandmother - it had been theirs) - it is facinating and has many paper clippings from the 1920s still inside. My favorite is for a "businessmans lunch" - it is 25 cents and includes a main course (choice of three) and two sides and a drink or you can upgrade to a t-bone with fries and a drink for 35 cents. The book is great reading for me and I love it - it was nice to see it on line!

I have an excellent copy of "The Settlement Cookbook: The Way to a Man's Heart" The original pub date is 1901 but my copy is vintage 1951. It's got a whole chapter on baby feeding that is hilarious...but actually a good reference book for old timey cookin'!
